Ancestry.com Makes AdWeek 'Best Spots' With Newly Launched Nationwide Ad Campaign
Campaign captures the core message of how discovering family history is a powerful experience
PROVO, Utah, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- Ancestry.com, the world's largest online resource for family history, today announced that a television spot from its recently launched fully-integrated marketing campaign has earned top honors as an AdWeek "Best Spot" for March.
The 30-second television spot, WWI, showcases the meeting between a man who has been researching his family history on Ancestry.com and one of his ancestors. In the scene, a pilot from World War I lands on a modern-day suburban street, encountering, face-to-face, the man who's been searching for information about him. The magic moment captures the emotional experience of discovering the past and how it gives meaning to the present.
"This campaign is Ancestry.com's most significant branding initiative ever, and we are very pleased to be recognized by AdWeek for our team's outstanding efforts," said Andrew Wait, SVP and General Manager of Family History, The Generations Network, parent company of Ancestry.com. "Working with the creative team at Mullen, we wanted to make sure each spot powerfully captured the core message behind the campaign that discovering your family history is an emotional experience that not only brings your past to life but also gives new meaning to the present."
Ancestry.com's ad campaign kicked off in March with Meet Your Ancestors. Learn their Stories. Your Family History Awaits as the central theme. Each spot was created to showcase the emotional rewards that result from gaining a more thorough understanding of family history and to encourage everyone to start their journey of family history discovery today. The ads are scheduled to run through October across all channels including television, print, radio, and online. (View Ancestry.com ads at: http://myfamily.mediaroom.com/index.php?s=68).
